Peter Breslow is one of those “so much to do, will find a way to do it all” people. He’s one who will always say yes if it means benefiting another. His reputation as a “PR Machine” has him and his consulting firm in high-demand with a constantly growing list of clients ready to pay top dollar for his services. And yet, despite his 24/7 schedule and paying clients knocking at his door, Peter finds time to champion our cause – donating countless hours, professional and personal resources in the name of finishing the fight against breast cancer
Komen Philadelphia’s relationship with Peter Breslow goes back many years – his family and the family of our CEO having connected with each other through various community involvements. However, it was around the time Komen Philadelphia celebrated the twenty-year anniversary of our Race for the Cure – a few years after launching his own company, Peter Breslow Consulting & Public Relations – that Peter personally stepped through our doors with his hallmark high-energy, aim-high attitude, determined to do his part in support of our mission.
For the past few years, Peter has leveraged his relationships with clients – especially in the restaurant industry – to open doors for Komen Philadelphia. These have resulted in new relationships, donation of resources and more.
But as they say, there is so much more! Two years ago, Peter – whose company represents Cescaphé Event Group, long-time venue sponsor for our Pink Tie Balls and Race for the Cure Kick-Off Parties – set his sights on adding a new dimension to our Pink Tie Ball experience.
With Peter’s experience, drive and connections, the culinary experience of our 2014 Pink Thai Ball was elevated through the roof! Peter brought in renown Thai chefs from the local restaurant community who presented our guests with an authentic Thai experience never to be forgotten.
For this year’s Pink Tide Ball, Peter has set his sights high once again – developing what are sure to be amazing “Tastes of the Sea” cocktail hour and dinner presentations from local seafood restaurants.
It must be repeated that the food served by these culinary professionals, as well as their services, help support our Pink Tie Ball fundraising at no cost to Komen Philadelphia. This generosity starts with Peter’s passion for our cause and is secured through his ability to instill that passion in his clients who then embrace not the “job”, but the opportunity, to donate their services.
Of course, as we like to say, behind every Pink Ribbon man is a Pink Ribbon woman. So, before concluding this article, we also thank and recognize Peter’s wife, JoAnn Needleman, who has experienced breast cancer in her family. Upon hearing of Peter’s involvement with our Pink Tie Ball, JoAnn immediately volunteered to serve on our committee and become involved in other aspects of our work.
There’s no doubt that what Peter Breslow has brought to the Komen Philadelphia table (both literally and figuratively!) has contributed to our ability to raise funds for our mission, further distinguish us in the non-profit fundraising arena, and forge new relationships that will provide value to our organization for years to come. And so, we are proud to honor Peter with our Pink Ribbon, and grateful to have him in our family.
