For the 8th consecutive year, Major League Baseball is proud to partner with Susan G. Komen in a fun way to encourage millions of people to Go to Bat Against Breast Cancer. A unique way to make an impact, the program takes a big swing to: increase breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection;  raise funds to support breast cancer research and community outreach programs; and  recognize breast cancer survivors, co-survivors and those who have made a difference in the fight to end this disease!

THREE great ways for you to GET IN THE GAME, and support this cause!

NOMINATE and/or VOTE FOR INDIVIDUALS YOU'D LIKE TO SEE AS HONORARY BAT GIRLS: February 22 -April 14

Winners will receive a great packages of prizes & opportunities, specially created for her or his home-town MLB team. These may include:

  • Possible on-field recognition at the game*
  • 2 tickets to game (On Mother’s Day or, if Club is not home on May 10, Club will select an 
alternative date in May after Mother’s Day)
  • Louisville Slugger Pink Bat (Engraved with winner’s name) and other commemorative pink MLB merchandise

GET OUT TO THE BALL GAME ON MOTHER'S DAY: May 8

Participating MLB teams hosting home games on Mother's Day will 'go out all in the pink department in the name of awareness. The fun includes: players using official pink Louisville Slugger bats; and players and coaches wearing pink MLB ribbon decals and pink wristbands. As part of the Mother’s Day festivities, the Honorary Bat Girl contest makes its return to recognize breast cancer survivors and advocates in a public setting.

Note: Because our local team, The Phillies, will not be playing at home on Mother's Day,  the Honorary Bat Girl chosen for our Fightin' Phills will be recognize on an alternate date at Citizens Bank Park!
