Your impact

With the help of supporters like you, Komen Philadelphia is making a measurable impact on our fight against breast cancer.

LEADING THE FIGHT, INSPIRING CHANGE, EMPOWERING SURVIVAL—IN 15 COUNTIES. Susan G. Komen® Philadelphia is where the end of breast cancer begins!

Our Vision

A world without breast cancer.

Our Mission

To save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Our Bold Goals

To reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent by 2026.

To reduce the number of late-stage diagnoses in our local community by 10 percent by 2021.

Our Method

Research. Care. Community. Action.

Every hour of every day, we work to achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer. That is, a world in which every person diagnosed with breast cancer is sure to survive breast cancer. Step by step, one life at a time—with supporters who believe in our mission and turn their passion into action—we are nearing the finish line.

Komen Philadelphia has led—and continues to lead—the charge in every evolution of the breast cancer movement. We do this by empowering men and women according to their culture, lifestyle and socioeconomic status, as well as their breast cancer awareness levels, fears, risk factors and experience. Today, our work has intensified considerably, as we learn more about this disease; embrace growing survivor and metastatic breast cancer communities; delve deeper to reach populations that remain in need of even the most basic education; and serve an even greater diversity of needs based on age, risk and other factors. Every day, we confidently meet the demand, driven by a commitment to our promise to stop at nothing until every life is lived to the fullest—and free from the threat of breast cancer.

Your support of our Pink Tie Ball will allow Komen Philadelphia to increase our services to more than 7.4 million people in 15 counties. In addition, you will help to fuel the work of national and worldwide research, and through our community grants program, make it possible for dozens of local hospitals and social-service organizations to carry out breast-health and breast cancer programs, as well as for community navigators to support individuals along their breast cancer journeys.
