BECOME A TEAM CAPTAIN MENTOR!

In 2010 the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was thrilled to announce the revolution of our approach to team-building and team fundraising for the 2010 Komen Philadelphia Race for the Cure through our Team Captain Mentor Program.

Being a Mentor can be a highly rewarding experience for you, plus a great way to meet new people, be part of the Mentor family, and help others take bigger, more powerful steps in empowering breast cancer awareness and fundraising.  Please read the details of the program below and, if your are interested in becoming a 2011 Team Captain Mentor, contact Victoria@KomenPhiladelphia.org by August 31, 2010.

Team Captain Mentor Program: Why We Do it.

The power of numbers is immense when it comes to ending breast cancer, which is why teams are so very important!

By captaining a team - embracing everyone you know in the fight and inspiring them to help empower the life-saving Komen mission with fundraising - Team Captains are staring breast cancer in the eye and saying:

"Bring it on breast cancer... we've got the passion and the power to take you down!"

And so, seeing the passion of each Team Captain, and knowing the vital importance of each team's fund- and awareness-raising, the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate is pulling out all the stops to empower the success of each and every Race team.

This revolution means it's never been easier, more fun or more inspiring for Team Captains--and the Mentors who guide them--to take their team success to incredible new levels!  Consequently, it's never been easier for team members to unite, embrace larger numbers in their team activism and soar to great heights of fundraising.

Team Captain Mentor Program: How it Works.

Our Team Captain Mentor Program can help grow and organize teams and develop fundraising strategies. Upon request, any Team Captain who registers a team, or has already registered a team, for the Race can be assigned his or her very own Personal Team Captain Mentor. This friend will be with the Captain throughout the Race season, guiding him or her through the team recruitment and fundraising process:

helping them maximize the power of Team Captain tools

empowering them with great pledge-raising ideas

connecting them with resources

and more.

Just think of the Mentor as a behind-the-scenes angel!  The Personal Mentor will be in touch with Captains every step of the way.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

The more PEOPLE you embrace as part of your team, and the more FUNDS each person raises, the further you'll go - including the chance for fabulous prizes and rewards, PLUS the ultimate reward is knowing you've brought our community miles closer to the reality of a world without breast cancer.
