Race Chair Inspires Us All
A NOTE OF THANKS FROM A VERY COURAGEOUS YOUNG WOMAN
Through God's grace, I am still standing...
I'm standing on the backs of all the survivors that have come before me, like my mom,
And I am fighting for all little girls, like my Maddie,
So they may have a world without breast cancer.

Last year, the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure proudly chose Kerri Conner and her mother, Anita to serve as our 2008 Race for the Cure chairpersons. About a month before the Race, Kerri was diagnosed with breast cancer. While this saddened our family, Kerri's faith inspired our hearts.
Kerri words of thanks are an inspiration to all of us to continue the fight:
Dear Family and Friends:
I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank you for the numerous phone calls, cards, gifts and most importantly-the prayers. As of July 3, 2008, I finished the first phase in my battle against breast cancer. This has been the hardest experience I've ever had to overcome, and I would not have not been able to get this far without you. My battle has just begun, but as long as I am still standing, I am willing to FIGHT !!!
