More than 1,000 Dashed for the Diamond and Paused for the Cause!

The Komen Philadelphia Affiliate is thrilled to announce that the 2nd Annual Robbins Diamonds Diamond Dash raised more than $4,300 in just about two hours on October 31. We sincerely thank Jerry Robbins, SCVNGR Pro and the 500+ couples who came out on a rainy Halloween morning prepared to hunt for the diamond and make a substantial contribution to the Komen Philadelphia Affiliate.

"We are truly overwhelmed by the donations and dedication to helping create a world without breast cancer displayed by this young generation participating in the Robbins Diamonds Diamond Dash," said Elaine I. Grobman, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "I think it may just have been the easiest $4,300 we ever raised! Beyond the money, we are excited to have been able to embrace this obviously passionate group in the Komen promise to end breast cancer."

The Komen Philadelphia Affiliate also encourages all participants to take pride, knowing that their donations will be put to good use to help fight breast cancer... right here in your neighborhoods and around the world. In fact, the funds we raise on October 31 are enough to empower many critical breast health services for women in need. Potentially that $4,300 could fund:

  • 86 clinical breast exams - a key to early detection, or

  • 43 potentially life-saving mammograms, or

  • 4 rounds of Taxotere chemotherapy

So again, we thank everyone who helped to make this possible and hope to do it all again, next year.
